Sometimes a glittering career hides many of the most tragic stories. Lolo is in her current position after much struggle and patience. Jones is a child born into a single mother and had five children living suffering from poverty and hardships as a child, had an extremely challenging childhood. Jones was the winner of the NCAA Indoor Hurdles event in 2003 as well as the 2004. Jones is training since 2005 when she finished her studies. Jones won each of in the Torino Memorial and the Heusden Track events in the same year.

Brandt born in Cape Town South Africa with her parents and siblings relocated to Auckland New Zealand when she was in her teens.
